When we decide to start a family, there are a lot of thoughts that come to us. Some exciting, and others that just make us feel nervous. One fear that most people have when they are trying to conceive is, "what if we don't get pregnant". I know I had that fear because I was underweight and was told by my doctor that I will have to try for a while before I actually do get pregnant. So, I went out and did some research on how to increase chances of conception and this is what worked for me:
1. Plan ahead. If you are taking the pill know that it takes between 3 to 6 months to get it out of your system.
2. Have a healthy lifestyle. Take plenty of rest, eat wisely and exercise. Make sure that you always do low impact exercises like swimming and walking because these exercises are the safest to do even after you get pregnant.
3. Oil of Evening Primrose. This is available at any pharmacy and it helps by making cervical mucus more fertile. However, care must be taken while taking this supplement. It can only be taken from the first day of your period to the 10th day. Also, you must ask your doctor before taking this to make sure it does not have any adverse effect on your body.
4. There is also an herbal method used that makes a woman more fertile. There is no scientific evidence that it works, but it is worth a try. Take a cup of almonds, a cup of pistachios, a cup of sugar, a cup of gondh (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_Gum_of_tree_gondh) and a cup of basil seeds/takmaria seeds (http://www.wholespice.com/display.asp?id=1965). Grind it into a powder and have a few table spoons of this with a glass of milk first thing in the morning. Again, make sure with your doctor that these things are safe for you to consume.
Hope it helps! :)
